The GO Virginia Region 9 Council (Council) is seeking nominations for business leaders to serve on the Council. Nominations from regional Chambers of Commerce, self-nominations and re-applications are welcome. Nominations are due by May 15, 2019.
The Region 9 Council is part of Virginia’s initiative for Growth & Opportunity in each Region or “GO Virginia”. With the support of the Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development, it is responsible for facilitating and prioritizing collaborative economic development projects that promote regional business growth and high-paying job creation. The majority of members on the Council must be members of the private sector.
Business leaders should be from regional localities including the Counties of Albemarle, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, Orange, and Rappahannock, and the City of Charlottesville.
Business leaders with expertise in Talent Development, Business Ready Site Development, Entrepreneurship, and Growing Existing Businesses targeting Light Manufacturing, Food & Beverage Manufacturing, Information Technology, Biotech, and Financial and Business Services industries are sought in order to support regional growth in these target areas.
Nominations for leaders representing diversity and minority communities are encouraged.
Nominations are being accepted for At-Large Private Sector Member Seats and Chamber of Commerce Nominated Seats.
