Join us for a talk on Interviewing Job Applicants
This workshop will help business owners and managers use the interview process to enhance their ability to choose the best candidate for job openings. In this workshop, you will learn:
- How to Prepare to Interview a Job Applicant
- Different Interviewing Techniques, and when they might apply
- How to Conduct an Interview, and
- The basics of what information can legally be obtained in an interview and/or used in making a decision to hire or not to hire.
The speaker for this event will be Mike Yeatts, Director of Human Resources for Germany-based Klöckner Pentaplast. Mr. Yeatts work location is at KPFilms’ Gordonsville, VA, facility.
Mr. Yeatts’ expertise in interviewing job applicants comes from his 40+ year career in Human Resources. In his current position, Mike is responsible for global talent and leadership development, execution of Human Resource services in both North and South America (including policy development, staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits and government compliance), and is the strategic partner for key business partners.
Prior to joining Klöckner Pentaplast in 2002, Mike held Human Resource Management positions with Infilco Degremont, Inc.; Tredegar Film Products; Heilig Meyers Furniture; and Safeway.
Business Bursts are held the first Monday of each month at the Louisa Arts Center from 6:00-8:00pm. The seminars are $10 each for Louisa Chamber members and $20 for non-members.
The current 3-workshop series is focused on Managing Human Resources (Employees) – Recruiting, Selecting, Hiring, Training, Developing and sometimes even Terminating. Interviewing Job Applicants will be the second workshop in this series. The third, and last workshop related to Managing Human Resources will be Monday, May 2nd – look for more information on the May event, coming soon.
