Innovative Initiatives

The Central Virginia Partnership advances strategic initiatives to strengthen the region’s economic future. Anchored by Rivanna Station, home to the Defense Intelligence Agency, National Ground Intelligence Center, and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Central Virginia is a growing hub for national security and intelligence. The Partnership is host to the region’s Defense Affairs Committee whose purpose is to promote and expand economic opportunities in these critical sectors.

In collaboration with the University of Virginia, the Partnership also co-leads the Innovation Corridor Strategic Roadmap Study. This transformational effort is identifying areas where Central Virginia holds a global competitive edge and uncovering new growth opportunities in life sciences, national security, and digital technologies.
