The Central Virginia Small Business Development Center (CV SBDC) can help you to manage and grow your business. The CV SBDC serves the experienced owner who wants to expand a business, solve business problems, develop new ideas, enter new markets, or access expansion capital. The CV SBDC also serves the aspiring business owner who needs to understand the requirements for going into business, financial management issues, marketing strategies and tactics, business plan development and implementation, and the qualifications for obtaining start-up funds. If you are thinking about starting a new business, we strongly recommend that you begin by attending one of our How To Start a Small Business seminars and begin to write a draft of your business plan before making an appointment. Our counseling services are offered confidential and provided at no charge on a one-on-one basis. We also offer a variety of courses and workshops focused on the special needs of small business owners. Counseling sessions are primarily conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays. Appointments may be made for other days of the week by special arrangement. We now offer appointments for counseling in Louisa, Nelson, Orange, and Greene Counties. Call or e-mail us to set up an appointment. If you set an appointment, we will ask you to complete the Request for Counseling Form and Pre-Counseling Questionnaire and bring it with you to your meeting.
Make Decisions. — Take Action
Growth Wheel® is a visual toolkit for dialogue and decision making. It helps entrepreneurs build their businesses through a simple action-focused process that stays true to the way most entrepreneurs think and work.
Simple. Visual. Practical.
A 360º Perspective Made Simple
Growth Wheel was designed around the observation that… all companies have the same challenges.
Whatever the industry, lifestage, or company size, building and growing a company comes down to the same four basic challenges:
- creating an attractive Business Concept,
- building a strong Organization behind it,
- developing lasting Customer Relations, and
- doing so while maintaining profitable Operations
The SBDC incorporates this Growth Wheel® toolkit into both selected counseling sessions and training events.
