Cancelled – Best Workforce Practices for Small Businesses – Orange, VA

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

As of Monday, May 16, this workshop has been cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

The Best Workforce Practices for Small Businesses workshop will provide valuable information to all small businesses, whether they are preparing to hire their first employee to those that have an existing workforce and want to know how to better manage them, and all stages in between.   In addition to tips on basics such as who to recruit, how & where to recruit, selecting the “right” candidate, employment laws, the hiring process, and maintaining a loyal and talented workforce, attendees will learn about a number of area resources available to offset many of the man hours and costs involved with hiring and training new and existing workers.

Presenters of this workshop come from a variety of backgrounds and have a wealth of knowledge about Human Resource issues in small to mid-size businesses.  Representatives from Virginia Employment Commission, Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services, Piedmont Workforce Network, a local Human Resource Management professional and the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center will all contribute to the content of this workshop.

Sponsors of this workshop are the Orange County Economic Development Office, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, the Orange Downtown Alliance, and the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center.
